Comprising of mainly comedy, the program includes twelve award-winning short films from around the world including Ireland, Norway, Spain, Singapore, UK, USA, and Australia.
Also screening will be a draft of the Inspired By Gloucester short film. Sitting at three minutes long, the clip consists of shots taken around Gloucester including some of the work filmed by students of July’s filmmaking workshops held at the School Of Arts.
“This is a draft copy and viewers will be asked to make suggestions about how to make it a fun, positive, upbeat promotion of Gloucester for free downloading, portraying local events, sites, businesses and historic landmarks,” film director Greg Smith said, adding that they were encouraging the community to take a role of creative ownership over the finished product.
“It’s a lot of fun creating art together. We’re enthusing people to make movies as well as watch them.”
Forster Film Festival’s creative partnership with GACCI is supported by Gloucester School Of Arts, Gloucester Business Chamber, Gloucester Rotary, Visitors Information Centre, BWNG with Gloucester Gallery via Arts Upper Hunter, and the Country Arts Support Program.
There will be two opportunities to view the program at the Senior Citizens Centre on Hume Street on Saturday September 5, with a matinee at 4pm (doors at 3.15pm) followed by another viewing at 8pm (doors open 7pm).
Tickets: GACCI members $12; non members $15; students $10 from Gloucester Health Foods and at the door. For information contact GACCI on 0419 426 816 or Forster Film Festival on 0414722596.
