Deputy Premier and Minister for Police Troy Grant has encouraged members of the public to show their appreciation for the NSW Police Force by joining National Police Remembrance Day services or simply saying ‘thank you’ to officers they may come across.
“Today I encourage everyone to thank an officer or join one of the many Remembrance Day services being held across the state to show their support for the sacrifice police make by putting their lives on the line to protect others,” Mr Grant said.
“Today is the most significant day on the policing calendar where we pay tribute to the officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice to serve their communities,” Mr Grant said.
“This is also a time to reflect on the sacrifices made by families and loved ones of the men and women of the NSW Police Force."
Since the NSW Police Force was formed more than 150 years ago, 252 officers have lost their lives while serving the people of NSW.
So to Gloucester’s Senior Constable Rob Crick, Scott Chester and Shawn Forrester, thank you.
