Organiser Tarnya Turner said that with participation amongst children on the rise, the clinic had been organised to meet a need amongst those taking up the sport. Children from Sydney, Central Coast, Queensland and local regions attended the sessions, which covered all aspects of stock horse riding.
“As they say about stock horses – it’s the breed for every need. We’re covering everything,” laughed Tarnya, glancing across at the busy showground.
“Stock horse riding really promotes the youth and gets them involved,” she said, referring to the junior judging sessions and its focus on teaching future generations how to judge.
Alongside the judging, cattle work, dressage, show jumping and polo cross were coached during the clinic.
