"I urge all the Great Lakes community to come and join this family friendly walk, to show our local politicians and decision makers, that we are opposed to the industrialisation of the Gloucester valley, and the threat to our water supply," she said.
The Northern Rivers coal seam gas licenses are in the process of being bought back by the NSW government from Metgasco, in a move which Cr Gill says “clearly shows when the people are united, politicians have to act..”
“We are encouraging people to wear black and gold, bring signs, sunflowers and banners. There will be the Hands Up against CSG, and Ground Beneath Our Hearts Sunflower installation. Please make a sunflower or hand with your name on it and bring it along.”
Followed by a BBQ and picnic, the walk will commence in Tuncurry's John Wright Park at 12pm this Saturday, finishing under the bridge in Forster.
