This week the Sharks came up against the Dragons and the game was a close one as both sides had many chances but good defence from both teams kept the score at 0-0 for the first half. Jackson Blanch proved himself a very strong player for the Dragons.
In the second half, Dean Germon got his team on a roll and had Dragons defence working overtime. Toward the end, the Sharks scored two goals to take out the game 2-0.
Goal scorers: Sharks Zane Commons 1,Dean Germon 1. Best and fairest: Dragons – Charlie Macdonald 3, Tristan Beard 2, Jonas DeAngelis 1. Sharks – Matt Wood 3, Hayden Reid 2. Dean Germon 1.
The match between the Tigers and the Devils was a different story. As the Tigers were without three of their top players and their coach due to other duties, the Devils were far too strong.
In the second half, the Tigers put in a better effort and kept the game more even but they could not match the Devils' offense finishing with a final score of 7-0.
Goal scorers: Devils – Ben Haynes 3, Bethany Hester 2, Travis Sansom 2. Best and fairest: Tigers – Chloe Reid 3, Tyler Johnson 2, Keira Macdonald 1. Devils – Lachlan Sansom 3, Travis Sansom 2, Bethany Hester 1. Next round: Dragons vs Devils, Tigers vs Sharks

Robyn also had a handicap change down to a 9. Congratulations Al and Robyn. Congratulations must go to all players - we witnessed some excellent croquet throughout the day.

One player commented “when does the Winter comp begin?” It was so warm and sunny. Fay Harris won the raffle.
Divison 2 – Staples vs Parish Final score of 3/30 to 3/26 to Team Staples after some great tennis. The final set score of 6/1 Di Relf and Sally Martin over Mae and Diana sealed the win for Staples. Every player got at least 1 ace while Mae was the only player free of double faults. Well done. Many well placed returns were the highlight of the match.
Divison 1 – Munn vsersus Murray Another 3 set all result with team Munn taking the points 30/23. Julie sent down the only ace on this court while double faults were few and shared only by Sue and Margaret. Julie and Fay’s 6/0 win in 4th set over Elaine and Betty seems to have been the deciding set. Lots of marathon rallies full of great shots.
Higgins versus Germon Thanks to Gai Falla playing for Sharrone. Team Higgins took the points 4/30 to 2/25. Again, the standard of tennis was high. Bev sent down the only ace while Gai (3), Merrilyn (2), Joannie and Sally (1 each) shared the double faults. The 3rd set win 6/1 by Joannie and Merrilyn over Sally and Gai was the most decisive set score of the match. All players present voted that scoring shall remain as is.
