Sinfonia was established 17 years ago and was the first regional orchestra on the Mid North Coast.
Musicians, playing a wide variety of instruments, range in age from 13 to 92 and come from Gloucester, Forster, Tuncurry, Wingham, Taree, Camden Haven, Port Macquarie and Wauchope.
Practice sessions are held in Taree each fortnight under the batons of honorary conductor Heidi Lambert and assistant Iain Pole.
Sinfonia is a regional orchestra that supports local musicians, giving them the opportunity to advance their skills or just come together to enjoy playing and performing music.
The aim of the orchestra is to bring music to the people within their own regional area, playing anywhere from The Glasshouse in Port Macquarie and Manning Entertainment Centre in Taree to the small community halls and churches throughout the Mid North Coast.
