Riley Doutty scored a great goal. In the second half saw some beautiful teamwork resulting in a second goal by Riley, then another by Jake Moulds sealed the win. For Accommodation Management Jacob and Dylan were the goal scorers of the day, there was some great passes from Baily, Jacob, Sam and Dylan. Ayrleah made some fast chases up the field and attacked the ball all game. Owen made some great saves and was under pressure for a fair bit of the game. The team played well and passed well, making it an enjoyable game to watch. Yates and Twomey versus Gloucester BlueLight was a great game played in windy conditions. All Yates and Twomey players contributed. Good passing and teamwork were a highlight of the game. Only good goalkeeping from Ben stopped more goals being scored.
Bucketts Building Supplies and Service Division 4
In freezing cold conditions Ollie’s Service played Darrel’s Butchery. Probably due to the cold, Ollie’s were down to four players at the start. Amy Fry from Darrel’s Butchery volunteered to play for Ollie’s to even up the numbers. Both teams struggled to dominate in the first half. Darrel’s launched a number of raids through Jacob Brown and Holly Isaac ably supported by Matthew Woods and Oliver Collins. These raids were countered by strong attacks launched by Ollie’s Alexander Terras and Charlie Coombs with the support of Kyan Leu, Ethan Blanchard and Amy Fry. The only goal of the half was scored by Darrel’s in what was an extremely close half. In the second half, Amy Fry went back to Darrel’s after Ollie’s Mia Barnes arrived. The second half was again very close with little to separate the two teams. Great defence from both sides looked like the result would go to Darrel’s until, on the last play of the match, a cross from Ethan Blanchard somehow found its way through three defenders to tie the game. Final result one all.
Gloucester Mufflers Division 2
Webbs proved too strong for HSV this week with a 4-2 win. Max was strong in goals for HSV, being well supported by Emma, Claire, Cody and Bailey in defence. The attack of Mitch, Ryan and Cody was thwarted by the Red's dogged defence. The win was secured by 60 minutes of good offensive team play, fantastic passing skills shown by Logan, Simon and Will especially. Barrington trophies were too strong in the cold wind for Autolec winning 5-2. They continually peppered the goals making life hard for goalie Jack. Nicholas penetrated the defence three times scoring for his team. The Maroon team showed excellent team work and used their passing skills with growing confidence. A fantastic strong game from all players despite the chilly conditions. Maslen's hire went down to Bluelight this week 5-0 but not without a great fight. Hamish was strong in goals for Light blue being ably supported by the defence of Kobi. Kai never stopped working hard and made scoring difficult for Green. Outstanding teamwork proved the key for the Green team who played well throughout the whole game.
Drifta Camping 13yrs A Chilling Victory
The wind chill this week didn't dampen the Drifta Camping and 4wd teams enthusiasm at our home game against Pacific Palms Panthers, with sharp passing skills coming from the midfielders up front to Xander to score our first goal within the first few minutes. The opposition were quick to try and make a turn around with Pacific Palms driving the ball high up in the air and even with the sun in Sam's eyes, he made a superb save! Aiden and Josh showed great teamwork and solid passes to each other, keeping the keeper busy. Finding a gap in defence, Pacific Palms were quick to score a goal, making it 1-1. Joseph and Jack then stepped up making some solid tackles, while Hayden found himself in a tackle that brought him to the ground. Our forwards were determined now to bring the score back in our favour as Xander made an individual run down the park, bringing the keeper out a little too far, and sneaking around behind him and scoring a brilliant goal. Pacific Palms made an instant turn around from their kick-off, scoring a goal in lightning speed. All players kept on attacking at every opportunity to prevent any more goals against us. Kelly, Lane and Kayden made the keeper nervous by shooting many long and fast balls, while Xander scored another, providing him with a hat trick for the day. Straight from the kick off, the ball moved easily among our players, Zeke took the opportunity and hammered the ball at their keeper, bringing the half time score to 4-2.
As the wind picked up in the second half, so did the forwards, making many attempts at goal by Lane, Joseph and Zeke. The defensive line were strong in attack, giving a free kick to the opposition, which made the boys a little nervous as they took possession of the ball in front of our goals for quite a while. Jack made a great header in defence near halfway, while Isaac and Tristyn made some great runs to keep the ball our own. It was great to see William back on the field this week, making some great tackles and putting his body on the line with Jack to prevent some goals against us. Fantastic footwork from Harrison, and Joseph pushing the ball forward to Kayden, Isaac, Lane and Josh, were unlucky not to score any more goals, with the wind hampering the direction of the ball. Sam swapped his shirt with Aiden, giving Sam the opportunity to warm up on the field and taking a few quick shots at goal, showing he can be great anywhere on the field. Although the score remained the same throughout the second half, both teams gave it their all despite the bitterly cold weather.
The next game for Gloucester Drifta Camping and 4WD 13s is against Wingham Wanderers at Wingham Sporting Complex Field 2 at 9:00am on Saturday 2nd July.
