It is organised by the Stroud Road Community Hall and Progress Association Inc. as a major fundraiser for the ongoing management and maintenance of the Stroud Road Community Hall, one of very few wholly community owned and operated halls in the Mid Coast Council area.
This now legendary event, is becoming increasingly popular with people seeking a return to traditional family values, with one of the biggest pyrotechnic displays in the region outside of New Year’s Eve.
Our Association is only able to continue to stage this unique event through willing sponsorship from numerous entities with interests in the local area. We also enjoy the support of many local businesses and individuals who donate products and services for prizes. Their willingness to become involved is very much appreciated and helps underpin the success of the night.
This year will see the return of local amateur astronomer, Dusty who will allow budding stargazers to get up close and personal with one very impressive telescope. For a gold coin donation, you can view not only the stars and moon, but more incredibly Saturn surrounded its rings and own moons.
A modest entry fee for the night will be charged and hearty hot foods and drinks will be available for sale. Our huge ‘Random Raffle’ will be drawn just prior to the commencement of the fireworks with prizes gratefully donated by many supportive businesses.
We continue to receive many favourable comments from newcomers, as it provides parents the opportunity of allowing their children to experience cracker night – ‘the way it used to be’. So bring a chair, watch the trains go by and say good-bye to winter alongside our roaring bonfire before the night’s sky fills with all the colours of spring.
The natural amphitheatre allows for safe, unrestricted viewing like no other venue you’ve ever experienced. If you’ve never been before, come and enjoy something completely different.
Our Association would also like to advise owners of animals sensitive to noise to take appropriate measures to ensure their wellbeing.
