All 49 Angus bulls offered were sold, topping at $21,000 to average $9,939. In addition six composite bulls sold to average $4,670. These results represent the third highest NSW on property Angus sale average for the spring selling season. The top selling bull Knowla Lancaster L3, is a 17 month old son of EF Complement, purchased by Lyncote Holdings from Merriwa for $21,000. Lyncote also purchased two other bulls at $18,000 and $11,000.
Gloucester river breeders Darryl Johnston and family purchased three bulls, to a top of $18,000 for Knowla Kokoda K51. Chris and Sally Maslen from Speldon Partnership, Gloucester secured two bulls to a top of $14,000 for Knowla Kokoda K118.
John Gilles and Karen Miles from Bundook paid $14,000 for Knowla Kiwi K80. Col and Sally Martin from Bowman Farm also purchased two bulls, to a top of $12,000 for Knowla Kathmandu K116.
Greg and Gai Falla from Glen Avon Grazing, Stratford secured Knowla Kathmandu K87 for $12,000. New clients the Fisher family from Upper Avon, Craven also paid $12,000 for their choice of Knowla Kathmandu K89.
Other local purchasers included Jim and Rosemary Dixon securing two bulls for a total of $20,000, whilst John and Dianne Stidolph also secured two bulls for at total of $24,000. Lower Hunter breeder John Faragher outlaid $15,000 for his choice of Knowla Kirwin K54.
Will and Jan Rumbell, Monkerai paid $12,000 for Knowla Kokoda K93.
An outstanding draft of un-joined Angus yearling heifers offered on the day saw all 98 sell to average $2,006. New client Ben Pritchard from Mill Creek Stroud was a volume purchaser securing 82 of the heifers to go with two bulls secured at $11,000 average
