Club treasurer, Moya Harris said that the grant was applied for before they knew the club would be closing.
However, repairs still need to be done to the building as the club will remain in operation for another nine months, after which time the building will probably remain a community asset, according to Ms Harris.
Federal Member for Lyne, Dr David Gillespie joined members of the Krambach community on Wednesday, September 7 to announce the funding win.
Dr Gillespie said the $10,000 project would improve drainage around the clubhouse.
“The project will see the construction of a diversion drain to channel water runoff from the road that has damaged facilities under the clubhouse in the past.
“When the diversion drain is created, the club will be able to repair previous flood damage that has occurred at the clubhouse,” Dr Gillespie said.
“The club holds a number of golf events including fundraising for the Westpac Rescue Helicopter Service and also cater for large numbers of people including regular golf days and these improvements will ensure the clubhouse continues to maintain its accessibility to the local community,” he concluded.
