This is the first time in 10 years that this competition has been held in Australia and it will not return to the Pacific region for another 10 years.
The Avon Valley Field Archers took the opportunity to compete against archers from 16 countries with 535 competitors in divisions including cubs, juniors, seniors and veterans.
The archers shot an average of 112 arrows each day walking very challenging field ranges.
They walked onto the field ranges at 9am each morning and returned at about 4pm each afternoon.
Unfortunately due to severe weather which made the ranges dangerous on Thursday and Friday, the shoot was called off for these two days.
Presentation took place on Friday evening of 30th October. Our archers from Avon Valley Field Archers placed very well considering the conditions and only three days of shooting. Many of our archers shot Personal Best Scores and have come home with great memories, wonderful experiences and a new sense of achievement.
