The Gloucester Rugby League decided Andrew would be the perfect fit for another successful year for the Magpies and he brings a wealth of playing experience.
An uncompromising backrower with a high work ethic, he will be demanding commitment, both on and off the field in his new position.
Andrew played under 18s in Group 3 for Wingham and in the undefeated under 19s Souths side in the Newcastle Rugby League. He was A-grade captain at Cardiff and won premiership with both them and Gloucester in the NHRL.
Andrew sees his appointment as a natural progression from being a player and is held in high esteem by teammates and supporters.
A big match player, he has won awards for best forward in finals series and was outstanding for the Magpies this year. The Magpies will field a side again with a mixture of youth and experience with Andrew ‘hopefully attracting a few players from outside the area.”
