It’s a collection of surreal and abstract paintings inspired by the complexity of thoughts, ideas, interpretations and ultimately "personally tainted views", we as individuals, bring to every part of our lives.
James has been creating art for over 20 years.
He’s originally from the southern beaches of Sydney, he has had exhibitions and works hung in Sydney, Northern NSW and South Australia.
He uses a wide range of mediums including acrylic, oils, ink, pen and pencil and finds inspiration from the world around and from inside himself.
He finds painting in abstract and surreal styles allows the expression of his thoughts and ideas,feelings and emotions to be expressed through colour, form and texture.
The precise lines in James’ work make for bold and striking images with often a single brush stroke representing the form of his subject, in other works intricate patterning creates dimension.
The exhibition opened on Thursday, January 5 and will run until Sunday, January 29.
Entry to the gallery is free.
The gallery is open Thursday to Saturday from 10am to 4pm and Sunday from 10am to 1pm.
The Gloucester Gallery, a Gloucester Arts and Cultural Council Inc. (GACCI) initiative, is a community gallery space located in the historic School of Arts building in Gloucester.
