International Officer Penny Charles attended the International Study School in Canberra so was able to give up to date information on CWA's Country of Study, Nepal. A country lying between China and India with many diverse cultural groups and a varied geography.
Claire Reynolds spoke about collecting quandongs and making jams. In earlier days the seeds were used as markers in the game of Chinese Checkers.
President Jess Burley congratulated Claire on her success with poetry at the Tamworth Country Festival,winning both sections, being only the third person to win both sections.
For Cultural Dorothy Kirk read snippets from a book "Things my Mother used to say" bringing back memories for many.
Gloucester Branch is hosting the Mid North Coast Group Council Meeting with Handicraft and Cookery on Wednesday, March 1.
Branches from Bulahdelah to Nambucca Heads will be represented and bringing their handicrafts and cooking for judging.
Members of the public may view the display of handicraft on Wednesday morning from 10am to 12noon at the Uniting Church Hall.
Next meeting will be on Tuesday, March 14 at 10am. All welcome.
