Gloucester Public School (GPS), Barrington Public School (BPS), Stratford Public School and Stroud Road Public School were represented in the gala day hosted by Hockey NSW.
Three fields were set up to play version of the game called Kookaburra eights, a new game involving eight players on each side. The game is based around a fast, fun and more flexible game of hockey, using a revolutionary new Joey Ball which is a softer and safer alternative to the traditional ball that doesn’t sacrifice fundamental characteristics.
GPS plays BPS in the first round of the Primary Schools Sports Association (PSSA) knockout hockey competition on March 29.
