Member for Upper Hunter, Michael Johnsen congratulated Gloucester’s sporting community after two clubs recently secured grant funding as part of the NSW Government’s 2016 Community Building Partnership (CBP) program.

Mr Johnsen said the NSW Government has committed funds to new community infrastructure projects that will enhance much needed local facilities.
“The Gloucester Croquet Club received $6678 to carry out improved works on their clubhouse and the croquet lawns,” Mr Johnsen said.
“Also, the Gloucester Rifle Club received $5196 for the refurbishment of target stop butts and for their equipment storage shed.
“I was delighted to visit these local cubs to congratulate them in person, and to present them with confirmation of their funding,” he said.
“Sport is a huge part of our local way of life, and the Nationals in government recognises how important it is to our Gloucester community, for both social and health reasons.
“The Community Building Partnership program for 2017 will be open for applications later this year, and I would encourage any of our local Gloucester community organisations that are looking to enhance their facilities to apply in due course,” Mr Johnsen concluded.
