Gloucester Public School students got a lesson in SMART today (May 17), thanks to the University of Newcastle.
SMART is an acronym for Science, Maths And Real Technology which delivers interactive science shows and workshops for schools.
Presenter, Nathan Burke explained to the students about how to program a robot by learning how to speak its language.
A little robot called Andy showed off his dance moves for the crowd and clapped his hands in response to the students.
They learned about Artificial Intelligence (AI) and how a robot or a machine can think and learn like human.
The session ended with Nathan flying a drone in front of the students.
Science and Engineering regional chair, John Walton organised the visit ahead of the Science and Engineering Challenge due to kick off later this week.
