The Cockies are flying high after their decisive win, and first bonus point of the season, last weekend over the Old Bar Clams 40-5 and the addition of young player Ryan Yates to the Cockies’ line-up, together with a full round of games will mean the Cockies are a different team to the one that the Bulls defeated when they last met 82-7.
The Bulls have continued to capitalise on their pre-season training with their fitness and set play seeing them undefeated in the 2017 Lower Mid North Coast competition.
Bulls’ coach, Lee Sullivan was cautious in the lead up to this weekend’s game.
“All our players played a really tough game last weekend against the Dolphins and there are a few bumps and bruises that are still niggling at a couple of players,” Sullivan said.
“The Cockies have clearly found another gear and as Michael Wooster from Gloucester said recently the Cockies have an exciting new player in Ryan Yates, we are really looking forward to an exciting game.”
In other games this weekend, Old Bar host the Myall Coast and the Manning Ratz host the Forster-Tuncurry Dolphins.
The Dolphins may very well be challenged by the loss of several key players to injury, including Jeremy Innes who suffered a torn hamstring in the loss to the Bulls last weekend.
The Bulls game kicks off at 3pm with canteen facilites available and entry is free.
