With the threat of inclement weather again, golf croquet players took to the courts on Friday, May 19 for next of the Mid North Coast competitions, this time against Taree.

The day had previously been postponed due to rain.
Twenty-four games were played over the day, each being handicapped and forty-five minutes timed.
Nine players made up the Gloucester team.
Singles winners were Brenda Pennicuik 7-4 and 7-5, Robyn Roberts 7-5, Yvonne Bagnall 7-2, Al Minis 7-4, and Ken Gosson 7-3. Doubles winners were, Elaine Leech & Alison Windeyer 7-2, Elynne Graham and Brenda Pennicuik 7-4, Elaine Leech and Ken Gosson 7-2, Col Weismantel and Bev Murray 7-4, Robyn Roberts and Ken Gosson 7-3, Elynne Graham & Ken Gosson 7-6, Brenda Pennicuik and Elaine Leech 7-3.
Gloucester again started strongly but at the end of game 20 the score was level at 10 each.
Al Minis and Ken Gosson then took each of their singles putting Gloucester two ahead.
With only two more doubles matches to be played one went Gloucester’s way bringing the end of day score in favour of Gloucester 13 games to 11.
Well done Gloucester – two out of two so far. We play Port Macquarie next Friday at Taree.
Congratulations also to Ken Gosson who broke his handicap.
