The Unsung Hero Community Service Award was presented at a special dinner for the nominees at Gloucester Bowling Club.
The four nominees were honoured as each nomination was read out, outlining the selfless work they do for their community and beyond.
Kerry was named the winner after being nominated by her “proud” daughter, Sally Andrews for the work Kerry has done over the years with Gangat Rural Fire Brigade, Legacy, Gloucester Gallery and St Paul’s Anglican Church.
Barbara Read, Michael Bowman and Les Potter were also recognised for their service to the community.
Barbara was nominated by Lorna Tomkinson for her work Gangat Rural Fire Brigade, Country Women’s Association, Gloucester Garden Club, and U3A, as well as her assistance with her husband, John who is legally blind, and her quilt making.
Michael was nominated by the Gloucester Breast Cancer support group for his continued fundraising through his business, Bucketts Building Supplies, which has so far raised thousands of dollars for the group.
Les Potter was nominated by Combined Probus Club of Gloucester for being a founder of the Probus club, as well as his work with the Lions Club, the Anglican Church, Gloucester Aero Club, Gloucester High School Driving School and 60 years with the Masonic Lodge.
