This is the same field that she won the world championship in Wagga Wagga last year. The rigorous contest forced competitors to shoot almost 450 arrows across the four day event.
Evette managed to hold onto a five point lead at the end of the fourth day of competition, giving her the championship.
Only picking up the bow for the first time last year, it’s been a quick rise through the ranks of Australian archery.
Her first taste of the sport came in the form of her son who influenced the rest of the Terres family to give it a try. Competition has taken Evette, her husband Lamont and their sons James and Alexander on several trips around Australia.
Lamont himself finished 8th in the men’s bowhunter unlimited A grade division at the national titles.
Coach Jeff Jennings claimed the silver medal in veteran men’s bowhunter unlimited.
Having achieved all she can in her division, Evette’s next challenge is moving into A grade.
“That’s my goal for the time being,” she said.
“I’m right there.”
