Until entering the priesthood 15 years ago Fr Raphael helped on his family’s four hectare property.
On August 2, Fr Raphael will say mass at St Isidore’s and talk about farming techniques, the difference in land values and incomes in Tanzania.
Last year 38-year-old Fr Raphael inherited the intensive farm from his family.
With a population of approximately 48,000 and about the size of NSW, Tanzania’s economy is heavily reliant on agriculture.
Following mass the father will have lunch at the Nabiac Hotel.
He arrived in Australia four years ago to take up a post as parish priest in Deniliquin in the Riverina before moving to Narrabeen as assistant parish priest.
The father will be travelling to Nabiac with Frank and Patricia Featherstone, who have been holidaying in the Great Lakes for the past 10 years.
During his stay in the area, Fr Raphael plans to will visit a number of local properties.
