The venue was Gloucester tennis clubhouse which provided a comfortable and convenient location for the proceedings.
Mavis was born in 1917 at Newtown in Sydney and was the eldest of eight children. Having lived most of her early years in Sydney she married and moved west to Seven Hills with husband Alex. They retired to Woy Woy on the Central Coast and celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 1995.
Having had three daughters and a son, she is proud to say they have provided her with 13 grandchildren, 30 great grandchildren and seven great great grandchildren
Mavis moved to Gloucester in 2011 and has since resided at Kimbarra Lodge low care hostel.
Both she and her family cannot speak highly enough of the sensitive care and attention she has received in the good hands of her nurses and doctors, during her time there.
