Man charged after kookaburra allegedly killed
A man has been charged with animal cruelty after a kookaburra was allegedly killed at a licensed venue in Port Stephens.

The man, 32, is alleged to have used an aluminium chair to hit the kookaburra, causing it to fall to the ground, where it was then kicked.
The kookaburra died.
Police later spoke to the 32-year-old at a home in Anna Bay.
He was charged with aggravated cruelty to animals.
He will front Raymond Terrace Local Court on Monday.
