There are 84 paintings from art society members. Thirteen of its members are represented, displaying works in almost every conceivable medium and style.
This shows the diversity of members and how they see the world. As new members join and bring their different interests and experiences to share with the group, members are influenced to experiment to see outside the square therefore making them and their works more interesting.
At this exhibition the range of the different subjects is evidence of this initiative.
President, Tracey Murrell opens up the upstairs School of Arts rooms every Monday morning for anyone to join her to paint, draw or whatever. This is perfect if space at home is limited or if you would just like company to 'art' with for a few hours.
The third Monday each month the whole group meets for a more formal day using one of the members to lead a workshop. September 18, members are trying portraiture in the gallery, so if you’d like to try come along.
The exhibition runs from September 13 to October 8, Monday to Saturday 10am-4pm and Sunday 10am-1pm.
