Crews will continue back-burning operations for at least another two hours to strengthen containment lines on the fire east of The Lakes Way.
Residents are advised there will continue to be significant smoke in the vicinity of the golf course for a number of hours.

The fire is burning well within containment lines and there is no threat to properties in the area, RFS district officer Stuart Robb said.

With predicted lower temperatures and lighter winds forecast for the Mid North Coast during the next few days fire-fighters from NSW Rural Fire Service (RFS) are looking to get the upper hand on fires burning in the area.
Crews will undertake back burning on The Old Inn Road. Bulahdelah and The Lakes Way – Aerodrome Road, Tuncurry fires throughout Friday, September 15 to strengthen containments on these fires.
The RFS has warned this could produce a lot of smoke.
More than 1800ha has been burnt in the Aerodrome Lakes Way bush fire, Tuncurry and Nabiac since it began more than a week ago, while 483ha has been burnt in Bulahdelah.
There has been no reports of stock or buildings loss.
Mid Coast District manager, Superintendent Kam Baker said: “Crews will be making the most of the forecast conditions to strengthen our containment strategies and as a result there will be significant smoke from these fires throughout the day”
