Letter to the editor: Gloucester can’t be bought

Some weeks ago, in the Gloucester Advocate, I read with interest that volunteering in the Gloucester community is worth a staggering, $8 million dollars per year.

We really are an amazing town; so many groups are working to make a better community for us all by their volunteering efforts.

Last week, I read an advertisement for the Gloucester Resources Limited (GRL) Rocky Hill Coal Project which states that GRL is offering $6.5 million in community grants.

Community is built, not bought.

GRL cannot buy social license in Gloucester for $6.5 million dollars.
