Spring is the time to get into gardens, and MidCoast Council and MIDWASTE have five free tickets to give away to a 'Scraps to Soil' workshop to help you make the most of your garden.

At a 'Scraps to Soil' workshop you'll learn how to get started with composting and worm farming to turn your kitchen and garden scraps into amazing food for your garden and soil!

The workshops include information on the value of composting, setting up, managing and maintenance of a compost bin or worm farm, how to use compost and trouble-shooting.

Complete the workshop and you’ll be ready to create your own fantastic compost at home.

Tickets are normally $20, which covers the cost of attending and take-home equipment, but there are five free tickets up for grabs. Enter the Scraps to Soil competition on the MidCpast Council Facebook page for your chance to win a place at one of the upcoming workshops.

It’s free and easy to enter, and your garden will thank you for it.

Just like and follow us, and comment on the competition post, telling us why you'd like to attend a 'Scraps to Soil' workshop and nominating your preferred location.

Be quick though, the competition ends at midnight on Thursday, October 12.

More than 500 residents have already taken advantage of this great program and are extremely happy with their home composting results.

"I've already made a load of compost, have picked some lovely tomatoes that grew out of the compost, great program," said one participant.
