On September 29, six players from the Gloucester Croquet Club travelled to Forster to contest the Mid North Coast Croquet Council (MNCCC) championships. Clubs represented were Port Macquarie, Taree, Forster and Gloucester.

Games were played in handicapped divisions, division 1 handicaps 1–4; div 2 handicaps 5-8 and div 3 handicaps 9-12. Three players represent each division, one playing the singles, the other two the doubles. Gloucester contested divisions 2 and 3.
Division 2 player, Brenda Pennicuik who didn’t have one of her better days going down 2-7 to Taree, 5-7 to Port Macquarie and 3-7 to Forster. Doubles players, Yvonne Bagnall and Bev Murray had sound wins against Port Macquarie 7-3 and Taree 7-4 but went down to Forster 3-7. Division 3 player in singles, Judy Hopkins had two wins out of three. 7-2 against both Taree and Port Macquarie but went down 4-7 to Forster. Doubles player, Robyn Roberts and Ken Gosson had two wins from three; 7-4 against Port Macquarie and 7-6 against Taree, while going down to Forster 6-7.
Congratulations to all players. Well done particularly division 3 who took out the trophy for Gloucester for 2017. Divisions 1 and 2 were both won by Forster.
On October 13-14 MNCCC Championships for Association will be played, to be hosted by Gloucester. Next golf competition will be the Beaton trophy, another two day event, which is to be held in November. Please watch the board for confirmation of date.
