A field of elite players produced some high-quality bowls at the 28th Sonny Downs Invitation Men's Fours at Rutherglen Bowling Club on New Year's Day. The tournament attracted 20 teams, slightly down on previous years, with the players from North East Victoria, Southern NSW and Canberra up against Saturday's soaring temperatures. However, with the Rutherglen greens running very well, the end result of extensive planning was a series of entertaining games befitting of the occasion.
