Gloucester Golf Club

Stroke Round (Monthly Mug) – Arkwood Trophy Day

The first competition day of the year was a very stern test of golf for the diehards at Gloucester Country Club. Temperatures in the mid-forties meant that players had to keep well hydrated.
The conditions certainly didn’t bother one Mr. Paul Coote who posted his personal best round & took out the mug with a super impressive 63 nett. Paul has been in a red-hot purple patch of late & the way he’s playing B Grade is just around the corner. Ben Veitch was desperately unlucky not to take out the day with his 67 nett. Great shooting Benny – that must have been close to your personal best too with 77 off the beater. Due to the low numbers on the day it was decided not to give out grade trophies. Therefore Paul was 1st, Ben 2nd & the ever-consistent Roy Crichton was 3rd with 74 nett.
Balls went to those three players along with Derek Bardwell
Peter Wildblood (A Grade) was the only one to take out a NTP.
A Grade Long Drive: Ben Veitch

28/12/19 – Single Stableford – Club Trophy Day

The last competition day of the year for our members saw a good field take part for trophies supplied by the club as is traditional this time of year.
Several players posted scores to or slightly better than their handicap. However, Peter Wildblood came out on top with a fine 39 points to edge out Tom Yates (38 pts) for the day’s best. Both gentlemen took out A & C Grade respectively with our infrequent plumber Bruce McKechnie winning B Grade with 33 points.
Balls went to those abovementioned along with Roy Crichton 37, Paul Coote 37, Steve Williams 37, Steve Benson 37 & Wayne Maddalena 36.
NTPs: A Grade: Noh Juan Hitt; B Grade: Bruce McKechnie; C Grade: Miss Tout;
C Grade Long Drive: Steve Benson
