Marquees were set up around the lawns and the bright colours of the various teams from Port Macquarie, Forster and Taree in red, green and white, and of course Gloucester’s blue, made for a colourful pageant.
The weather was perfect, the food provided by members under the guidance of Judy Hopkins was much appreciated, and the committee did a great job of organising the day.
Al Minis had the lawns marked out with precision.
The event was followed by the club’s own Christmas party and presentation.
This year members ventured to Barrington for a delicious meal, then back to the clubhouse for the presentation of trophies.
John Ikin was presented with the singles trophy with Judy Hopkins as runner-up.
Yvonne Bagnall and Bev Murray were presented with the Presidents Cup. The runners-up were Yvonne Fisher and Zan Menzel.
A reminder to members, croquet restarts with fun games on Australia Day at 4.30pm.
Normal play resumes on Monday, January 27.
