Magpies make it two from two

THE Gloucester Magpies have continued their winning start to the year with a comfortable 32-18 victory over Clarence Town.

The Magpies started strongly through tries to Corbin Predebon, Boe Clarke and Tom Middlebrook to lead 16-nil at half time.

A first class defensive effort kept Clarence Town scoreless until the early stages of the second half but the Magpies quickly regained the ascendancy.

A try to Nathan Bassani from a kick by halfback Hayden Tull was quickly followed by a second to Tom Middlebrook.

Middlebrook completed his hat trick to give the Magpies a 32-12 lead before a late try to Clarence Town saw the home side close the gap to 14 points.
