The board connects to a computer, allowing children to participate in a range of activities from storytelling to drawing.
“I think the benefit is that it brings life to their learning in a whole new aspect,” preschool director Elizabeth Price said.
“A student was talking about a blue-ringed octopus the other day and we were able to bring up pictures on the board right away.”
The whiteboard serves to enhance the foundations of learning by engaging students through the touch screen.
Currently, the board is on a moveable frame allowing it to be taken from room to room. The preschool received funding for the new technology from the Bucketts Ball Committee and Yancoal.
