Around 45 people came out to the Gloucester Croquet Club for their annual Australia Day event on the afternoon of Thursday, January 26.
The event was organised by club members, Bev Murray and Paddy Steven along with visiting Nelson Bay Club member, Margaret-Rose Thompson.
“This is my favourite club,” was the reason Ms Thompson agreed to help.
They had set up several Gala Skill games around the field for new and existing players to try out for the afternoon.
It was an opportunity to work on mallet skills; how to hit the ball and control the speed, with a number of new people trying it out for the first time.
The club is open to anyone who is interested in giving it a try.
They play Golf Croquet on Mondays, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays. Association Croquet is played on Wednesdays and Ricochet is payed on Thursday.
Drop by the club, near the Gloucester Swimming Pool, at anytime to pick up a times card.
