Game two: Accommodation Gloucester and Autolec went head to head in an extremely close game. Aiden Coombes and Audrey Holstein played well with passes by Alarni Longbottom, Emily Garnham and Will Bandy. Owen Bithrey took some amazing saves in goal. Jacob Danton scored the two goals for Autolec. Cameron Badham and Josh Norrie score the two goals for Accommodation Gloucester. Suspenseful match with the score one all at half time, two all at full time.
Drifta knew it would be a tough battle against top of the table leaders, Pacific Palms Panthers. Nerves set in as they kicked off and found it almost impossible to penetrate the strong defensive backline with only a handful of attempts in the first half from Harrison, Josh and Aiden, mostly shut down. Panthers had a few quick runaways in succession not long before half time and produced two quick goals.
Second half saw Drifta come out a lot stronger. Will proved a handful against the left winger, while Hayden worked well in his new position. After some strong tackles, a free kick was awarded to Palms just outside the 18 yard box. Zeke in goals, jumped up and pushed the ball forward and created a runaway through Beau, Harrison and onto Isaac who had a great shot and unlucky not to find the net. Drifta did not give up, final score 2-0. The next game is at Wingham 10am on August 12.
