Last weekend in a great match Matthew Higgins won against Kevin Burley and Rod Henininger was victorious against Nico Duynhoven.
The first of the semi finals was played on Sunday morning and after his long match on Saturday, Wayne Groves backed up against Rob Henininger under sullen skies.
Wayne was off to a great start and led 7-0 and 17-6 after 13 ends. As always in sport there has to be a comeback and Rob did just that by taking 6 ends to Wayne's 2 and the score was 21-20 to Rob.
This time Wayne responded and retook the lead 27-22. That was his last hurrah though as Rob again controlled play to win 5 straight ends and therefore the match by 31 -27.
The second semi final pits Terry Davies against Matt Higgins and this game will be rescheduled to a date during the week.
Only 22 players registered for Thursday's social bowls and there were four matches played, three triples and one pairs game.
Bonus points winners on 19 were the trio of Eric Latimore, Vic Hebblewhite and Gary Spokes who won 27 shots to 13 against Doug Barron, Terry Carson and Rob Henininger. In second with 18 points were Peter Sansom and Luis Urby who won by 27 to 11 against Kevin Burley and Steve Howlett.
Third with 16 points were Mike Sheely, Peter Green and Nico Duynhoven who had a close 19 to 16 shot victory against Harry Cox, Don Beaumont and Graham Turnbull.
In fourth spot with 14 points were Ray Shepherd, Jim Whittaker and Gary Moss who started against Jim McIntosh, Frank Wells and Nev Holstein but Jim had a leave due to a medical emergency. His place was shared by a couple of standins. We hope all is well Jim.
