Andrew Blamires, Caroline Blamires, James Saunders, Brett Radford, Campbell Swilks, Geoff Hawkins and Bernie Edstein participated in the 14 kilometre run from Hyde Park to Bondi Beach on Sunday, August 13.
It was Andrew’s second time completing in the race, finishing in 1 hour 17 minutes, while Caroline ran for her first time, finishing in 1 hour and 45 minutes.
“I’m looking forward to doing it again,” Caroline said.
James and Campbell went with a goal to beat their times from last year, both wanting to achieve a finish time of under one hour.
James had finished 1 hour 2 minutes in 2016 and this year finished in 58 minutes and 38 seconds.
He was quite happy with his finish as he didn’t think he’d be able to complete the race in under one hour.
“I guess 12 months of training really helped,” James smiled.
Campbell’s time was 1 hour and 6 minutes last year, which he smashed with a finish time of 56 minutes and 54 seconds this year.
“It's good to run in events like this, to set goals and have something to work toward,” Campbell said.
“Helps keep the motivation going.”
