Awardee, Bucketts Way Neighbourhood Group was represented by chief operating officer, Anna Burley at the presentation.
The group’s project is to build a community kitchen that will have two primary aims
- Provide a training and skill development facility for Gloucester area in particular for the unemployed or under employed to enable them to gain employment in the hospitality industry.
- to upgrade the Meals on Wheels service from a frozen meal delivery to a fresh and or hot meal.
The Uniting Church has granted $9,250 toward the total project cost of an estimated $134,000.
Another awardee, Gloucester Public School Parents and Citizens (P&C) Association was represented by vice-president, Ruth Edwards.
The P&C’s project is to build a 17 by 12 metre Covered Outdoor Learning Area (COLA) to provide sun protection for the students.
$9,250 was granted by the church toward the total project cost of $27,000.
The final awardee, Gloucester High School was represented by relieving principal, Trudi Edman.
GHS’s project is to relaunch the breakfast club two days a week, providing a wholesome meal to those students who miss breakfast.
The church has granted $1,500 toward the total project cost of $1,750.
