Member for Upper Hunter, Michael Johnsen said the 2017-18 Public Reserves Management Fund program will contribute $143,755 towards the management of public reserves in the Upper Hunter region.
Gloucester AH&P Association will receive $120,604 to demolish an aging dairy shed and build a new multi-purpose shed.
Mr. Johnsen said the fund provides financial support to maintain the community’s highly-valued public assets.
“State-owned public reserves play an important role in our communities and the NSW Government is committed to ensuring these reserves continue to provide social and economic benefits to the people of NSW,” Mr. Johnsen said.
“This funding will directly benefit our community, boost our economy and contribute to the cultural, sporting and recreational life of our region.”
Across the state, 440 projects will benefit from $15 million in the latest round of the Public Reserves Management Fund.
Other funding in the Upper Hunter electorate included, $3,576 to Gundy Comm and Public Rec Trust for replacement of boundary fences and $19,575 to Quirindi Showground for designing a power supply upgrade.
There has been $94 million invested over the last six years in the upgrade of showgrounds, the repair of buildings, bushfire hazard reduction, weed control and building new infrastructure.
