Hallidays Point Library is hosting a special movie screening of Beauty and the Beast on Tuesday, October 3, from 2pm to 4pm. The PG rated movie is an adaption of the fairy tale about a monstrous looking prince and a young woman who fall in love. Bookings are essential to determine numbers.
Come along with the kids to enjoy a variety of jigsaw puzzles and board games at various libraries across the region, with no booking required at any location.
Hallidays Point Library is offering board games every day in the holidays, from 10am to 4.30pm.
Taree Library is hosting these activities each Thursday through the holidays, from 2pm to 4pm, and similar fun will be open to all at Harrington Library each Tuesday and Friday in the holidays, from 10am to noon.
If bingo tickles your fancy, and you want to work on your number skills, games are being held at Hallidays Point Library on Thursday, September 28, from 2pm to 3pm, Taree Library on Friday, October 6, from 11am to noon, and Harrington Library on Thursday, October 5, from 10.30am to 11.30am.
A variety of workshops are also on offer these holidays, with plenty of new skills to be learned, and fun to be had.
Bring in some photos to Forster Library on Wednesday, October 4, and create your own scrap book, with all materials, decorations and scrap books provided. All children age 5-12 are welcome to attend, but bookings are essential. The session will run from 10.30am to 11.30am.
Children are invited to join MidCoast Council water officers at Hallidays Point Library on Wednesday, October 4 to investigate the fascinating world of life in a pond.
Kids will discover all sorts of critters and learn what they tell us about the water as they become ‘pond detectives’.
This is open to all children over the age of four, and bookings are essential. Children must be accompanied by an adult, and are required to bring a hat and water bottle, and wear closed toed shoes and sunscreen. The adventure kicks off at 10.30am.

Creative painting classes are being offered at libraries across the region, with children aged eight and over invited to come along for a fun filled morning or afternoon of art. Local artist Christine Ball guide the kids step by step to create their own masterpiece, and all materials and equipment are supplied.
Painting classes are being held at Harrington Library on Friday, September 29, from 10.30am to noon, Taree Library on Tuesday, October 3, from 1pm to 2.30pm, and Wingham Library on Friday, October 6, from 1pm to 2.30pm. The cost for these classes is $10 per child, and bookings are essential.
A knitting class is scheduled at Wingham Library on Friday, September 29, from 10am to noon. Materials are supplied, and children will have the chance to learn the art of knitting, and creating their own clothing from scratch.
Halliday Point Library is holding a ‘Fun with the Firies’ event on Thursday, October 5, from 10.15am to 11.15am. Come aboard the fire engine! Learn about fire safety with the local Rural Fire Service officers as they demonstrate equipment and the fire truck functions. The event is open to children ages five to 12, and bookings are essential.
