MidCoast Council's manager growth - economic development and tourism, Deb Tuckerman invited anyone interested in business and jobs growth in the MidCoast region to complete an online questionnaire.
“It will help researchers gather information on key issues, opportunities and risks that exist in our region. The REDS will identify actions that can be undertaken to support the economic growth of the region." she said.
The NSW Government announced earlier this year a record investment of $1.3 billion to regional NSW through the Regional Growth Fund.
To ensure that this investment is successful in growing business confidence, creating and encouraging business investment and maximising the potential for jobs growth, the NSW Government is working with local governments to develop REDS for selected regions, including the Mid Coast.
The process of developing a new regional strategy in the Mid Coast started with a public workshop held in Taree on September 1.
“We had a fantastic response from the community with over 70 people attending,” Deb said.
Local business and community input received via the survey will be valued by the research team and contribute to the more detailed analytical phase of the REDS process.
The survey is open now and can be accessed via council's website or at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/5ZCFQYQ and will close on Friday, October 13, 2017.
