The 50th anniversary celebrates five decades of conservation and is an opportunity to thank the staff and volunteers who protect and conserve more than 870 reserves, covering over seven million hectares.
“National parks aren’t just incredibly beautiful, they are also home to many of our native plants and animals, including many threatened species,” said Ms Upton.
Member for Myall Lakes Stephen Bromhead understands that you don’t have to be a professional bushwalker to enjoy the State’s national parks.
“People of all ages can get back to nature, take a stroll and discover a swimming hole or their perfect picnic spot, there is something for everyone,” he said.
