This match was a repeat of the semi final from last year and it had a different shape to the match if not a similar result.
The early ends were close and the score 3 to 2 when on end number five, Tammy lost control of her last delivery to take out her own team bowl to go down 6 shots. She and Mark slowly pegged back that loss and grabbed the lead on end 16 with a four shot win to be up 18 shots to 14.
The last five ends of any championship are known as the championship winning ends and it needs good concentration, experience and nerves of steel.
In Mark, Joan and Kevin there was many years of last five ends and it was Tammy, who could not hold her form through this period. Joan and Kevin picked up their quality and took a 3 and a 4 in two ends to grab back the lead.
A one shot win via a lucky ricochet on end 19 left Tammy and Mark 2 shots down 21 to 19 with two ends remaining. Joan and Kevin remained resolute and held onto a 1 shot and a 2 shot win on those ends to finish as champions by 24 shots to 19.
The statistics make interesting reading with Mark and Tammy winning 11 ends to Kevin and Joan's 10 but a 6 and a 4 shot win on ends 5 and 18 were the difference.
