Scheduled for completion by the end of the year, the major internal improvements have been made possible following donations from Lions clubs in Stroud and Dungog.
"The Lions clubs have advised us they have sourced a grant of $28,000 from the Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF), and we're able to contribute a further $12,000 to enable $40,000 in total for works at the hall," MidCoast Council property and commercial services manager, John Dougherty said.
The funds will provide for installation of air conditioning and ceiling fans throughout the hall along with the upgrading of the Hall kitchen to a caterer's style. The kitchen will be fitted with new sinks and cupboards and have new appliances installed - including a large fridge / freezer and dishwasher.
"We're pleased to be able to partner with the Lions clubs to enable this significant upgrade to the public hall facilities for the Stroud community," Mr Dougherty said.
Works are scheduled for completion by the end of this year.
