After spending 18 months touring Australian in a caravan with her partner, guitarist Adam Nyeholt, playing music wherever the road took them, Karin Page’s next stop is Gloucester.
The multi award-winning Byron Bay singer-songwriter will perform at the Fox Den on Thursday, November 30. In the past two years, Page's blend of country, blues and rootsy Americana has made waves around Australia.
She won Female Artist of the Year and Songwriter of the Year at the 2017 Western Australia Music Awards, was named 2016 Toyota Star Maker and nominated for New Artist of the Year at the 2017 CMC Awards.
Karin's nomadic lifestyle has deeply affected her music, which now bears all the character of the endless Australian road.
Racking up over 25 shows across five states in the past two months, Karin shows no signs of slowing down as she prepares to head back into the studio to continue work on her debut album.
The new single 'Lonely Night' sees Karin bring out a folk and blues feel, under the guidance of Jordan Power (Angus and Julia Stone, Kasey Chambers) on production and mixing duties, including help from Grant Gerathy on drums (John Butler Trio), Matt Bone on double bass (Claire Anne Taylor) and Matt Engelbrecht on guitar (Bernard Fanning). Mastered by Brian Lucey at Magic Garden Mastering, the laid back instrumentation draws influence from Ray LaMontagne and The Waifs and floats along with Karin's delicate vocals.
