Manning Valley artist, Jo Ernst is holding the official opening of her ‘New Works’ exhibit in the Gloucester Gallery on Saturday, November 11.

Jo is a professional artist formerly from the Blue Mountains, now based in Mooral Creek and has been involved in the arts all of her working life.
This body of work is a culmination of drawings and paintings executed over the last two years; characteristically, nudes form a dominant part of the collection. Other works deal with themes that are close to Jo’s heart including, water, music and the night.

She completed a Dress Design Course at East Sydney Technical College before working as a couturier Designer. This was overlapped by studies in fine art - in France with Ted Seth Jacobs, a tutor from the Art Student's League, New York and a further three years at Paddington Art School with Stephen Wesley Gorton - leading to a later career as a visual artist and teacher. She has now been teaching, exhibiting and selling her work for 25 years.
‘New Works’ runs from Thursday, November 9 until Sunday, December 3, plus Jo will be offering workshops; Life Drawing on Tuesday, November 14 and Portraiture on Tuesday, November 28.
The official opening will be on Saturday, November 11 from 2pm until 4pm with Spanish guitarist, Quentin Arnold.
