The historic town of Wingham boasts some of the best cafes, clothing boutiques and antique stores in the Manning Valley.

The CBD of the Manning’s oldest town is charming with classic old architecture, high street shopping and even a town green.

The award winning Manning Valley Historical Society museum is also centrally located making Wingham easy to get about on foot.

You can easily lose track of time popping in and out of the shops in Wingham.

If you add in a trip to the museum or the delightful Wingham Brush you’ll be in town for hours.

Wingham’s newest attraction is Jacaranda Estate. This picture perfect vineyard situated on Appletree Street offers a variety of wines from the cellar door.

Most of the individual shops are situated on Isabella Street and Bent Street and one of the most colourful has to be Shirley Clarke’s fashion boutique Dress Up. 

With women’s fashions for all occasions, this shop continues to expand and is now a formal wear specialist selling dresses to customers as far away as Western Australia.

If ladies fashion is high on your list of priorities you won’t want to miss the much loved Ashlea Road Boutique also on Isabella Street. Marcia Bourke has been dressing the locals in the latest fashions for 20 years.

Not far from Dress Up you’ll find the first of two well stocked antique stores which in themselves attract a growing tribe of collectors.

Hop over the road and you hit the cafe strip.

The multi award winning Bent on Food first put Wingham on the map of places to eat back in 2006 with a win at the State Tourism Awards. This popular cafe/restaurant is still winning awards today and is also known for some pumping live music events.

The Tuesday Farmers’ Market is held weekly in front of Bent on Food with a wonderful selection of fresh eggs, produce and preserves.

Just down the road is the delightful Garden Grub Cafe offering wholesome food and really good chai tea seven days a week.

Next door you can buy old fashioned cut flowers and edible flowers and herbs from Sophie’s Heritage Blooms. Just a few more steps and you’ll find some alluring retro wares at Delinquent Funk.

We won’t tell you all the best spots, head to Wingham for yourself and take a morning to meander and discover what a traditional high street can offer shoppers of all ages.

The parking in Wingham is free and unrestricted but it does get busy.

If you do get caught out in the main street there is extra parking available in McCullagh Car Park – look for the sign on the left hand side of Isabella Street in front of the Sunnyside Cafe.

Worth noting on Saturday most of the shops in the CBD close by 2pm and things can be quiet on a Sunday.
