“Not to mention placing themselves in a position where they will loose their driving privileges for an extended period of time and/or be forced to put interlock devices into their vehicles and considerable expense, should their driving privileges be allowed to continue,” he said.
Some of the recent drink driving offences in Gloucester:
Around 11.45pm on Friday, December 8, police observed a utility vehicle travelling south along Barrington Street. A 35 year old was stopped for a random breath test which proved positive. The Gloucester man was arrested and taken to Gloucester Police Station and following a breath analysis returned a reading of 0.149. The accused will appear at Gloucester court charged with middle range prescribed concentration of alcohol. It was the second offence and his drivers licence was immediately suspended
On Friday, November 24, a 30 year old Gloucester man was moved on from Gloucester District Park after acting inappropriately. A short time later, around 6pm the same man was stopped on Boundary Street for a random breath test. The test proved positive and he was arrested, taken to Gloucester Police Station and following a breath analysis returned a reading of 0.067. He will appear at Gloucester court charged with low range prescribed concentration of alcohol. The driver only holds a provisional licence.
Around 5pm on November 5, police stopped a 46 year old Gloucester man on Church Street. The driver was subjected to a random breath test which proved positive. He was arrested, taken to Gloucester Police Station and following a breath analysis returned a reading of 0.067. The man will appear at Gloucester court charged with low range prescribed concentration of alcohol
Around 11.50pm on November 4, Police observed a utility vehicle travelling along King Street. A 34 year old Gloucester man was stopped for a random breath test which proved positive. He was arrested, taken to Gloucester Police Station and following a breath analysis returned a reading of 0.153. His drivers licence was immediately suspended and he will appear at Gloucester court charged with High Range prescribed concentration of alcohol.
