It’s all about sun safety at Gloucester Public School and thanks to the Parents and Citizens Association (P&C), there will be a new shelter built.
The P&C have been working on getting funding assistance for the construction of a new COLA (Covered Outdoor Learning Area) in the middle playground.
Member for Lyne, David Gillespie attended the school on Tuesday, December 19 to announce $12,418 of grant funding for the project from the Federal Government Strong Community Program Round Three.
$9,250 was granted by the church toward the total project cost of $27,000 COLA project.
The remaining cost of the project will come from the P&C with delivery due to take place on January 15.
Construction is planned to commence shortly after and will be completed before the start of the new school year.
The project is part of the school’s sun safety policy, providing more protection for the students.
